Dorothy M. Pritchett helps children build positive self-esteem. She helps them respond in a positive way to their frustration when their words do not seem to make a difference. They feel they have no voice. They feel they have no value. In her Corbilina series, Dorothy engages her readers with adventures about children, their grandmother, and a fairy named Corbilina. She shows children that there is another way to make a difference besides using words. Corbilina has no voice. She joins with the children to show how kindness and compassion speak for themselves.
When she is not writing children’s books, the author offers inter-generational workshops to build fairy houses and fairy doors. There is magic in the air when children and adults share their imaginations. She also volunteers with the Assistance League of Diablo Valley, a national nonprofit that puts caring and commitment into action through community-based philanthropic programs. Dorothy lives in Walnut Creek, CA with her husband Frank.
Dorothy explains how Corbilina began.
